THE RETA THROW
The Reta Throw was inspired by my lovely great grandmother Reta. A dedicated knitter and crochet artist. She created her whole wedding gown working crochet! Her knitting supplies were passed down to me right when I found my love for fibers in art school. Safe to say they changed my life. I felt her with me again.
I created this multicolored throw in three panels on my knitting machine using the intarsia technique. Intarsia is a bit like woodworking, each field of color becomes inlaid into the next. The bright, cheerful, and beautiful colors are representative of her spirit.
